When words are not enough

I joke way too much. It’s how I deal with problems from day to day. Most of the times, it’s okay and completely acceptable—like when you talk about leggings.  Sometimes, though, there are things you can’t laugh away.

This past Saturday was Slutwalk, a rally for the ending of society's current rape culture of slut shaming and victim blaming. In yesterday's paper, the editorial board wrote, in my opinion, a wonderful edit about how as students, we should work towards breaking the silence about sexual violence. Unfortunately, for some students on campus, it might be too late to confront how we consider sexual assault on campus because the issue has become something entirely too personal.
