Dear Washington: Fish tacos and hippie protesters

I took a trip downtown yesterday to get some delightful $2.75-a-pop tacos from Taqueria Nixemalita just outside City Hall (try the “Al Pastor"—it has pineapples!). Ok, I didn't just leave Morningside Heights for tacos (which is a perfectly fantastic reason alone); I also went to go see the Occupy Wall Street protests. I consider myself a staunch moderate—thus, I was excited to go see the protests, and to do so with a smile, but I wasn't exactly going to pitch in (or pitch a tent).

So, as I reveled in the awesomeness that is a perfect fish taco, here’s some of what I saw down at Zuccotti Park:
