"Alright," they say, "you can do this!"
This is a technically correct statement. Each and every person who says this is perfectly capable of doing it and could at this very moment stop that thing that they're doing that they shouldn't be doing and begin doing that thing that they should be doing.
They "can." They "can" stop. They are not doomed, like Sisyphus, to spend their time on Facebook, looking at photo albums of their friends studying abroad getting hammered with other Americans and thinking about how they should really be pushing a rock up a hill right now. They "can," technically speaking, do this.
