Columbia College senior Kyle Merber has been always been a presence on the cross-country team. Last year, he completed the indoor mile in 3:58.52, the current Columbia and Ivy League record. But don’t assume this Dix Hills, N.Y. native peaked there as just last Saturday, Merber placed second in the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. Indoors or out, this mid-distance runner manages to show the sport everything he has and victory always seems to follow.
