In this installment of Athlete's Diary, midfielder Nora Dooley, CC '12, reflects on her four years of playing women's soccer and the memories she will carry long after the final whistle of the season blows on Saturday night.
Year after year we are reminded how fast time flies in college, how fast the seasons change, how fast each week dissolves into the next. I have been told by family members, friends, upperclassmen of years past, and by myself time and time again, yet what can you truly do about it? “Never take a minute for granted”; “Take advantage of every opportunity”; “No regrets!”
Then that day comes when all of a sudden you are a senior, with one game and four practices left, and wondering to yourself, where did it all go? Well I'll tell you and I'll tell myself: four years of sisterhood; four different teams stacked with beautiful, strong women all of whom I could call on any given day for a quick bite or a drink; four seasons where myself and my six fellow seniors have walked off those fields voiceless, bruised, sometimes bloody, but always proud, and always together.
