Five questions: What does smelling underwear have to do with Waverly Neer?

Though she has only run in two collegiate races, Columbia College freshman Waverly Neer earned an automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA cross country championship by placing fifth overall in the Northeast Regionals this past week. The distance runner from Russiaville, Indiana has been a standout since her first start here at Columbia and has no intention on slowing down—literally. Neer currently holds the national record for the 5000m with a time of 16:35 and is presently considered to be one of the most elite collegiate distance runners in the nation.
