1. In the Loop. This is a hilarious gem that somehow didn't get much attention when it came out. It's about a bumbling British minister who answers a question the wrong way in the lead-up to a potential American war with an unspecified country in the middle east, and the fallout that results from his remarks. A totally transparent satire of modern events, the writing is pitch-perfect and everyone should see this movie. Be warned, though: It contains a lot of very strong language.
2. The Big Lebowski. Hopefully you've seen this one already, because it is a classic. But if you haven't seen it, now is the time to get to know "the dude."
