Columbia's first ever three-time captain of the men's soccer team, senior midfielder Mike Mazzullo, has been drafted by Toronto FC of Major League Soccer.
"I'm really excited for the opportunity to go to Toronto and compete for a place in the team," Mazzullo said. "I was in class when it happened and David Najem texted me, so I guess it was a bit of a surprise because I don't have a lot of exposure and I guess with the type of player that I am – I'm not a fancy player, I'm more a hardworking midfielder who does the dirty work – I didn't expect to be drafted, but I'm really happy."
