Ever since reading From the Mixed-Up Files of Ms. Basil E. Frankweiler, I’ve dreamt of visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
And not just visiting with my Lit Hum, or Art Hum, or something Hum class. I thought about the day I could just gallivant by myself, with no parents, tour guides, or teachers.
In the novel, two kids, Claudia and Jamie, run away from home to spend the day at the Met. I didn’t get to swim in the fountain or sleep over like the novel's heroes did, but my trip was even better than I had imagined.
