In an alternate universe, President Bollinger sits down for a frank conversation about the State of the University. Here is the transcript:
Trustees, faculty, and students—as has become tradition since the beginning of my tenure, I submit to you a comprehensive update on the state of this university. Tonight I would like to address three topics and unveil corresponding initiatives to address them: the resignation of Dean Moody-Adams, the atmosphere on campus and its effects on mental health, and our growing global center program.
First, our current academic year began with the resignation of Columbia College’s Dean Michelle Moody-Adams, who sent a letter to trustees pointing to undisclosed changes in the University as the reason for her premature departure. Despite the dramatic nature of this resignation, I have not revealed what great threat Moody-Adams saw in the pipeline.
