On January 4, 2012, something unprecedented happened in the beloved universe of Archie Comics: Kevin Keller, a character introduced in 2010, married the man he loves. In issue No. 16 of Life With Archie, Keller joins the military and is injured while deployed in Iraq. At the hospital’s rehabilitation unit, he falls in love with his doctor, Clay Walker, and the two marry upon returning to the picturesque town of Riverdale. That day, the character posts excitedly on his Twitter, “Today is my wedding!! Thanks for all the support.”
