“Is this a joke?” I turned to my friend and raised my eyebrows. D’Espresso Cafe was small, the seating area no larger than half my Carman double. The booth along the wall helped maximize space, but it wasn’t enough to lessen the effect of the tiny rectangular prism. Yes, this prism was wallpapered to look like a bookshelf turned on its side. Revolutionary. It was clear that we were paying extra just so D’Espresso could wallpaper its floor.
