It's a logical time to think about fall and winter clothing

During New York Fashion Week, designers braced themselves for a frigid fall and winter. Longer hemlines and higher necklines dominated ready-to-wear.

There was experimental design, combining conservative layers with innovative coats. Form-fitting and flattering silhouettes abounded, with cap and long sleeves, and many times through shift dresses. Jewel tones splashed atop typical fall colors, gray, black, and tan. Additionally, play with texture proved to be a popular eclectic trend.

These five designers showcased their visionary creativity with eye-catching clothes.
