The element of surprise, creativity, and a little bit of Imogen Heap: this is what you missed last night at the tenth annual Naach Nation.
The dance showcase was held by Columbia's South Asian fusion dance team, Taal, and featured troupes from several east coast schools, including MIT, NYU, and Cornell.
Speaker and Taal alum Monica Khan, BC '04, emphasized that the showcase isn't a competition, but a means of empowerment through South Asian dance; the show's profits are going to CannedWater4Kids, a charity that brings clean water to thousands of kids worldwide.
