If you're stuck in the city over the break, this list will get you started on some things to make your break as relaxing and fun as an exotic getaway.
1. Check out the Whitney Biennial: As its name suggests, The Whitney Museum of American Art puts together the biennial exhibit every two years. The show is supposed to be a snapshot of contemporary art in America today. The promo video looks pretty sweet, so if you're into modern art, you should definitely check this out.
2. Go to Williamsburg: I'd been putting off the hour-or-so trek all semester, but it was totally worth it. There's wonderful street art, awesome shopping, and overall it's just a really cool place to walk around (and participate in a hipster scavenger hunt).
