Want to know when the candidates will be announced for General Studies Student Council's upcoming student council elections? Curious about whether or not the GS alma mater will be sung at this year's Class Day? Madina Toure reports with highlights from last night's GSSC meeting:
Elections: Kenyatta Matthews has been appointed as head of the Elections Commission. Selby Byashimova and Ari Platt have been appointed members of the commission as well. Candidates must submit their forms by 2 p.m. on Friday, March 30, and they will be announced when the commission and the Dean of Students Office have reviewed all of the forms. Candidates for executive board positions will debate each other at next week's meeting. Election ballots will open on Tuesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. and close on Thursday, April 12 at 10 a.m.
Alma Mater: GS Dean Peter Awn told GSSC president Jackie Thong that he does not think it will be possible to have the alma mater sung at this year's Class Day given that the ceremony is a month away. He said, however, that it is something that the council can possibly pursue for the upcoming school year.
