How my liberal arts education ruined my sleep schedule

The other day, feeling sick and in need of rest, I went to bed early.

To be clear, early means midnight. I’ve never really been someone to go to bed at a reasonable hour, but since coming to college, the time that I usually decide to go to sleep has become increasingly unreasonable.

Most of the time, it’s necessary to stay up late to get all my work done. That way when I do go to sleep, I'm mostly satisfied with what I've accomplished during the day. But my sleep schedule has gotten so bad that I can't seem to sleep more than about six or seven hours before waking up.
