Into the Inferno: reading at St. John the Divine

Dante Alighieri’s words of hell and damnation will echo throughout the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine on 112th and Amsterdam this Thursday, April 4 from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.

Sponsored by the American Poets’ Corner, some of today’s most well known poets will gather to read aloud select cantos at the Cathedral’s 19th annual reading of “The Inferno,” the first part of the epic poem, “The Divine Comedy.”

The reading “offers a personal experience for those who attend to meditate in wonder at this world through a poem written in the fourteenth century,” according to program coordinator Tenzin Dharlo.
