Here's the analysis of today and the future of housing in un-high-school, three-paragraph format---what happened today, what'll happen on Monday, and whether sophomores should drop to General.
What Happened Today
Aside from the absolute shocker of a Ruggles six-person suite making it all the way into Junior Regroup, all went mostly as expected. Juniors picked into Watt Studio Doubles in droves, with all but two-person groups finding themselves disappointed.
The instating of Junior Regroup proved to be a brilliant idea this year. With well over 100 juniors crammed into John Jay Lounge, and most ending up with a Watt Studio Double or Claremont 7-person that in other years would almost have definitely dropped to sophomores, Junior Regroup certainly showed its fruits this year.
A few random predictions for next year. 1) Like with the EC Exclusion situation last year (freshmen groups were able to pick into EC), the appearance of a 20/3000 Ruggles cutoff will almost certainly up the number of junior six-person groups substantially. 2) Junior Regroup will be around for next year.
