Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda, Carrie—these are characters who defined a generation, if only by sheer volume. There have been six seasons of Sex and the City, along with two pretty awful movies, a smattering of soundtracks, and various DVD compilations. Plus, the series itself was based on a book by Candace Bushnell—the real-life Carrie Bradshaw, who wrote a series of columns in the New York Observer starting in 1994. In other words, this series has been around longer than most of the Class of 2016—and it’s still growing.
