Four others are looking to unseat 41-year Rep. Charles Rangel, but it can be hard to overtake an incumbent’s political networks. Still, with a district that is no longer primarily African-American, a race crowded with hopefuls, and insuppressible rumors that he might bow out, Rangel has his work cut out for him.
