Some Columbians are in the UK for the Olympics, and others are abroad with chickens in Morocco. Today we've got someone who has traveled throughout Uganda and Kenya all in one summer and even more notably recently pet a baby elephant!
Isabel Lopez, CC '13, talks about what it's like tutoring women in Kenya, what she's learned about her own life as a result, and shares with us some amazing pictures of rhinos, mosques, and what it's like to chill in Nairobi.

1. Where are you right now and what are you doing there?
Currently I'm sitting in my office sulking because the internet refuses to work.
On a larger scale, I'm spending 11 weeks in Nairobi, Kenya interning for an NGO called Zawadi Africa Education Fund that looks to help women from disadvantaged backgrounds prepare for, apply to, and, hopefully, attend American universities. I am mainly in charge of tutoring the students, but I also do some administrative things.
