As most of you probably know (at least those who have been around for The Shaft or personally suffered its wrath), McBain doesn't have air conditioning. Lots of dorms don't have air conditioning, you say? Just open the window, you say?
Easier said than done when your one window is stuck shut. Several strong gentlemen even tried to open it, too, with no luck. And because, of course, it took maintenance a while to show up, I was windowless for the hottest part of the year. I also wasn't about to spend a crapload of money on a box fan I would only use for a couple of weeks. While I own up to that choice, the point is: It was really freaking hot.
