Broken copiers and other war crimes

Columbia Rants is a series in which students sound off about things that annoy them.

On September 10th (henceforth known as Black Monday), I made a terrible mistake. I was in a rush… and thought I could copy something in Butler.

I can almost hear the raucous, half-crazed laughter emanating from those who have just read that sentence. "What a fool!" they cackle, bitter tears streaming down their faces as they remember their own Columbian technological tragedies. "One does not simply copy a piece of paper. Not at this University!"

They are correct. An ignorant soul would think that after demanding $45,000 in tuition from its students (to the point where some are literally forced into e-pan handling), Columbia University might be able to provide such lavish luxuries as consistently working printers and copy machines. But such a naive individual would be mistaken.
