Ezra Koenig + New Yorker = hipster dream team

Four dapper young men, a relaxed intellectual chat, free Häagen-Dasz, and a live performance by your favorite band—what sounds like fodder for a fan fiction series written by Columbia females in fact describes Saturday night at the New Yorker festival, where all-alum band Vampire Weekend met with journalist Atul Gawande at SIR Stage37.

The festival, which ran from Oct. 5 to 7, included a “Conversation with Music” series in which guests were treated to a panel discussion and brief concert—Vampire Weekend's first live performance in its hometown of New York since 2010.
