You may have missed it, but on Tuesday, Columbia let a vehicle on College Walk—the "kindness bus." Today, Nino Rekhviashvili reported on this unique project, promoting random acts of kindness, run by Bob Votruba (and his dog, Bogart).
Check out the article to find out exactly what they're doing, and as a supplement, here's a list of some potential (Columbia-specific) things you can do to spread the love (without inconveniencing yourself too much). Obviously, this is only a miniscule portion of the myriad ways you can help another person out, but it's a start. Feel free to leave other suggestions in the comment box.
-Be that person who puts in a maintenance request when something's awry in your suite or room. Don't wait for someone else to do it or for your sink to overflow. It takes approximately 15 seconds to fill out the online form.
-Be friendly to the security guards. Many of us already know how personable they are, but if you've been flitting in and out of your building with a frown on, you're a) not spreading the love and b) missing out on some great conversations. I mean, you see them every day—why not engage a little?
