Columbia has released a list of new courses approved for the spring semester. Check out the full list at the link, but here are some of the most intriguing options.
With only a few exceptions, these courses are not yet included in the directory, so take our highlights with a grain of salt.
Course: Popular music and protest movements
Department: African-American Studies
Why it's cool: Popular music. Protest movements. In addition to being interesting and informative, this course will save you from having to go all the way to Zuccotti Park for your fill of hipsterism (Did the OWS comeback ever happen?).
Course: Absent bodies
Department: Anthropology
Why it's cool: We assume there will be no attendance policy.
