UPDATE: Obama has won re-election. Check out the liveblog below to see how it went, and watch this video of the scene on Low Steps as Obama was declared the winner. We're still updating with the remaining swing states, by the way, and will be here until the last speech is delivered.
Here we go! The polls are closing now in the easternmost parts of Indiana and Kentucky. At 7 p.m. Eastern time voting will end in Vermont, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and the remaining parts of Indiana and Kentucky.
Our headline will be updated throughout the night with the projected Electoral Votes (EV) that each candidate will receive. Don't worry, we're not making our own projections---we'll be relying on the networks and the AP.
We want to hear from you! Tweet us your stories and pictures @CUSpectrum (use hashtag #CUvotes2012), or post on our Facebook page, or if you're super old-fashioned you can even email us!
2:00 a.m.: OK, your blogger is going to editorialize a bit and just say that the speech was worth staying up for. But after eight straight hours of liveblogging, we are finally done, and now we are calling it a night! We'll update projections and whatnot tomorrow. See you later, Columbia!
