This week in GSSC: Life in the pressure cooker

Columbia students live a stressful life, according to the presentation that dominated this week’s GSSC meeting. Council members heard a presentation on the state of academics at the University, and made a number of minor allocations before adjourning for the evening. Chris Meyer reports.

On my honor: Steven Castellano, CC '13 and academic affairs representative for Columbia College Student Council, dropped in to present a proposal for an honor pledge on examinations. Castellano said he thought the pledge would create a “culture of academic integrity,” but representatives weren't crazy about the idea. As JTS representative Zachary Javitt, GS/JTS '16, put it, “It’s a nice pledge, like pledging allegiance to the flag of Columbia. But there isn’t really much there.”
