Finals season snacks to get you through an all-nighter

It’s 2:01 a.m. in Butler, and Blue Java has just closed. What do you do? In an ideal world, go to sleep and rest properly before your exams. But obviously you need to stay up to finish a LitHum paper or study for your physics final. Here are some quick hunger fixes to have on hand for the last two and a half weeks before freedom:

The Butler-friendly smoothie: Nussbaum makes a great fruit smoothie...until 10 or 11 p.m. Pick up a Blender Bottle at University Housewares if you don’t already have one to be perpetually prepared for on-the-go milkshakes and other drinkable concoctions at all hours. Be creative or find a favorite smoothie recipe online at sites like smoothieweb.com. Cocoa powder, protein powder, yogurt, and milk are all great to have on hand to craft a quick energy boosting drink.

College Walk trail mix: While you sift through the semester’s notes, trail mix is a great healthy choice to mindlessly snack on. Comprised of dried fruit (often raisins), nuts, cereal, and candy, trail mix is easy to make on your own with your favorite salty and sweet snacks, but it can also be bought pre-packaged to fuel your late night essay writing.
