Just a stone’s throw from Columbia’s campus is a hidden gem---the TJ Maxx store on 100th and Columbus.
For those unfamiliar with TJ Maxx, it is an all-purpose overstock store that carries everything you could ever imagine and things you could never imagine even existed.
Here are five of the strangest things I found there on my last trip.
5. Motivational Canvas posters
I’m most confused by the one that proclaims, “You are the horizon to my sky... You are the icing to my cupcake.” As nice of a sentiment as that is, are you supposed to, like, give it to someone? Or hang it in a prominent place so that everyone who happens to see it knows how deeply important they are to you?
