As the post-Valentine's glitter and rose petals begins to settle, College Walk is strewn with broken hearts and romantic gestures fallen flat. For every guy or gal that bowled over their beau or lady fair yesterday, there’s someone else that tried and failed.
A recent unsolicited Facebook message ignited a string of fairly impassioned e-mails between a few friends on what it means to be “creepy.” To set the scene of said correspondence for you, a (very) distant acquaintance of a friend sent her a message essentially asking her out on a date on Valentine's after admiring her humorous (and public) comments on a popular Columbia forum. Between the four of us on the thread, two found this to be a bold (if perhaps too bold) action with points for being "ballsy," while the other two found it to be socially unacceptable in its execution and creepy in its lack of suavity.
