So you really don't want to get up and go to class

Benjamin Franklin once said, "The early morning has gold in its mouth." But aside from the early morning apparently resembling a gangster rapper or this guy, there isn't much good about it.

Perhaps it is a marker of our relatively luxurious way of life, but for some of us, the alarm going off is the worst thing that will happen all day. The rest of the day is just a continuous attempt to correct that initial injustice.

A lifetime of regimented scheduling has given us the tendency to process time in chunks, and that is why a class starting at 8:40 is so much worse than a class starting at 9.

This may not be a universal experience, particularly for those with some measure of willpower, but I find I am constantly fighting a battle with my own brain to make the right choice---that is, to go to class.
