The General Studies Student Council said “WTF," considered improving dining options for GS students, and announced that it is working on launching a peer-advising program during its meeting this week. GSSC correspondent Elizabeth Sedran brings you the top three nuggets of information that you may have missed this week:
GSSC goes “WTFColumbia”: Jared Odessky, CC ’15 and Columbia College Student Council VP of Communications, presented wtfcolumbia.com to GSSC. The site allows anyone with a Columbia or Barnard email to enter a complaint or vote on issues that their fellow students post. WTF Columbia allows council members to respond to the issues as moderators in the comment section, and students who are following the issue will be sent an email notice of the post. WTF Columbia is also working on developing a mobile application and enabling Facebook integration.
GS dines in: GSSC and Columbia Dining held a focus group with 15 GS students about their eating habits on campus and what changes they would like to see. Representatives from Dining Services said that they were glad to hear GS students’ take on dining at Columbia and GSSC plans to continue to talk with them to refine meal plan options for students.
