According to a notice on the Housing website, University Apartment Housing will not be a part of this year's lottery after all, due to lower than anticipated demand for housing. These rooms, which were arguably some of the best housing in all of Columbia, ranged from 400 to 800 square feet, and naturally will disappoint those few lucky two-person groups that were in a position to pick one of the seven UAH rooms.
In terms of how this will affect you, if you're in a non-two-person-group, don't worry. Otherwise, expect the desirable Watt 2-bedrooms and EC flats to cut off a little sooner (I'd estimate the last one will cut off around 30/1700-30/1900) and expect a (small) ripple effect for all two-person rooms.
As always, questions, comments, and thoughts are all welcome.

Ugh. Vomit. They couldn't just give it up for this year, since it had already been promised to students, and then change it back next year if they really had to? It's things like this that makes it seem like the administration just doesn't care how it is viewed by undergrads. We get that they have other obligations, but throw us a bone, once in a while, maybe? Rather than showing us a bone that looks super awesome and then taking it away and giving it back to the shiny dog you actually like, rather than the one that pulls your sled through the snow like effing Balto.
Bring them back!!!
way to go columbia
That's actually really mean of housing. Yes, I probably care more than others (2-person group that was previously probably going to get a Watt 2-bedroom, and now most definitely won't), but that's bs.
A paltry seven which translates to roughly a 100-150 point worsening of your lottery number (assuming your lottery number is greater than ~30/1400).
troll housing gods!
how many UAH were offered (in other words, how big will the ripple effect be?)
damn that sucks
...what...? you've got to be kidding me.
