Field hockey aims for fifth straight win

This Sunday, the Columbia field hockey team will look to earn its fifth straight victory on the road against Penn.

The Lions will face a Penn team that has struggled this season with a 1-10 record. However, the Quakers might be able to gain some momentum before Sunday’s matchup when they play the Delaware Blue Hens (6-7) this Friday.

Columbia (8-4) has had no such struggles this season, breezing past its last four opponents by a combined score of 12-4 after a tough loss to Princeton on Oct. 1.

Penn will be looking to use home-field advantage to beat the Lions for the first time since 2008, and the Lions will attempt to win their first game at Franklin Field in years. In the last four matches dating back to 2002, the Lions are 0-4 at Franklin Field, and they are 3-6 in their last nine matchups with the Quakers. However, the Lions have done better in recent years, as they are 2-1 in the last three matches dating back to 2007.
