As the winds change and apple picking season approaches, so does Queer Awareness Month, a monthlong celebration of queer pride and history in October sponsored by Columbia's undergraduate queer student organizations. The month isn't a Columbia construct, though.

Every now and then I envy the man-slut. The boy who keeps handfuls of (potential) lovers on hand. Who convinces himself, true or not, that all these beautiful people want the same damn thing: him. Occasionally I envy the female slut, but less so, because I find her less believable.

Beautifying the Baker Field complex in preparation for Columbia's homecoming matchup against Princeton did nothing to mask the ugly play on the gridiron. Neither team played quality football in a game riddled with penalties and mistakes, but the Lions' offense had a particularly poor showing.
