The 7-2 Columbia field hockey team traveled to Massachusetts this past Sunday to play Holy Cross. The game was a defensive battle, but the Lions were able to beat the Crusaders by a final score of 2-1.

The Columbia men’s soccer team defeated 19th-ranked Penn in a close game this weekend, ending its four-game losing streak and bringing its Ivy League record to 1-1 (3-6-1 overall) with the 2-1 win. This victory also marks the first Ivy League win for the Lions since November 2005.

Two top Ivy League competitors swept the Columbia volleyball team this weekend. After falling to Princeton on Friday and Penn on Saturday, Columbia is now 5-8 overall and 0-4 in the Ancient Eight.

The Columbia cross-country team scored an impressive win this weekend, taking on fellow competitors from New York and New Jersey. Columbia swept the Metropolitan Championships in both the men’s and women’s races on Friday.

It’s probably safe to say that punter Jon Rocholl got much more of a workout than he would have liked on Saturday. The Columbia football team called on Rocholl to punt ten times in a defensive battle with Lafayette that ended in a 13-3 loss.
