During my time at Columbia, various parties have made efforts to improve what some see as a lacking athletics program. The athletic director and the football coach have been replaced.

Timm Baur, CC ’10, is a 23-year-old heavyweight rower at Columbia University, formerly of the German army and national rowing team where he and his teammates won a gold medal at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships in 2004.

On April 17, I attended the rally and speak-out for Take Back the Night, an event aimed at promoting awareness about sexual violence. I arrived at Barnard’s gates, where several hundred students gathered around organizers welcoming students to the event.
