It was a bittersweet season finale for the Columbia men’s soccer team, as the winless Lions battled undefeated Brown to a heartbreaking double-overtime loss at Baker Field, 3-2.

Four days after giving Ohio State a scare, Columbia men’s basketball fell behind early to SUNY Albany and never managed to pose a serious challenge to the Great Danes. The Lions lost their third game of the season 70-38, finishing 11-49 from the field.

A trash can fire on the ninth floor of Sulzberger Hall led to the hospitalization of five security guards and the evacuation of nearly 1,000 students from the Barnard Quad early Sunday morning.
Brooks, Reid, Hewitt, and Sulzberger were evacuated at approximately 3:20 a.m.

Columbia College seniors Jason Bello and George Olive won Rhodes scholarships Saturday, ending a five-year stretch in which Columbia failed to garner the prestigious award.
Earlier in the week, Olive and Emma Kaufman, both CC ’08, won Marshall scholarships.
