As dismal as Dartmouth’s offense was last season, all signs pointed to things getting worse in 2007. Starting quarterback Mike Fritz was graduating, robbing the Big Green of both its leading passer and rusher from 2006.

The Columbia field hockey team (7-5, 2-2 Ivy) looks to keep its four-game win streak going this weekend, traveling north to take on Dartmouth (4-8, 1-3 Ivy) Saturday and the University of Vermont (10-5) Sunday.

The Columbia men’s soccer team (2-1-7, 0-2 Ivy) will resume its search for its first Ivy League victory this Saturday against Dartmouth. Following a string of losses to start the season, the Lions picked up their pace recently with a win against American University.

There was once a time when I could casually drive my fork into one of John Jay’s steaks and then slice it swiftly with my knife—without wincing. I haven’t become a vegetarian, but my relationship with the steak in front of me has changed greatly within the last month.
