I felt very proud when I heard that my Alma Mater decided to host a speech by the president of Iran. I expected that the event would stimulate students and many others to debate issues related to the U.S.-Iran relationship and Iran’s controversial president.

In the aftermath of President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s campus visit, I certainly expected to read criticisms of University President Lee Bollinger and his handling of various aspects of the planning and execution of Monday’s event.
