The women’s basketball team finished out its season on a disappointing note, as the Lions dropped both of their games against Princeton and Penn this weekend. With the two losses, the team ends its season with a four-game losing streak, and a final overall record of 13-15 (6-8 Ivy).

With a weekend sweep of Ivy foes Brown and Yale, the women’s basketball team now has a team-best 13 wins this season with four games still to play. The Lions succeeded this weekend with consistent and smart basketball. Their keys to the game were rebounding, aggressive play, defensive speed, ball movement, controlled tempo, and communication.

The Columbia women’s basketball team will be back at home this weekend when it faces off against Brown and Yale. To continue the success they had against second-place Harvard last weekend, the Lions will have to focus on playing strong defense and controlling the boards.

This past weekend the women’s basketball team went on the road with the hopes of returning to New York with two more victories. However, as has been the result for several series this year the Lions were only able to win one of their two matchups.

In this past weekend’s matchup between Princeton and Columbia, the Lions were unable to stick to their plan and were forced to play into their opponent’s hands.

The Columbia women’s basketball team came back from last weekend’s road trip with one impressive win and one tough loss.

The Columbia Lions traveled to Ithaca this past weekend with the hope of extending their three-game winning streak. Unfortunately for the Lions, they were unable to return from upstate with a win as Cornell dropped Columbia 58-53, putting the Lions at 8-8 (1-1 Ivy).

The Columbia women’s basketball team, currently riding a four-game winning streak, is looking to make it five straight with a win over Cornell in Ithaca this Saturday.

The Columbia women’s basketball team will take part in the Tyler Ugolyn Columbia Classic on Friday night. The tournament is named after former Lion, Tyler Ugolyn, who was a victim of the Sept.
