For 12 years, the same shadowy figure has been lurking on Broadway at 4 a.m. Dressed in black from head to toe, he's hardly noticeable as he scrutinizes the nearly empty street. If all goes well, he doesn't speak to anyone, but remains alone in the shadows until just after dawn.
