Last week I spent my break in Paris visiting friends, hitting all of the requisite tourist spots, and watching the student protests at the Sorbonne. Much of my time was spent milling about the protests taking photos and running from the tear-gas clouds used by riot police to disperse the crowd.

Columbia's Californian Spring Break training trip started out with a bang, in the form of unseasonably cold weather, major hail storms, and plenty of formidable lacrosse competition. The team began their schedule with a tough loss to 20th ranked Stanford, 13-4.

Columbia women's rowing team had a strong start to their spring season, capturing first place in three of five events in a regatta with Syracuse and host school Central Florida. The races on Saturday, March 18, were the culmination point of a solid week of training in Melbourne, Fla.
