Barnard College senior Alexis "Lexie" McNaughton Knox died Monday after a car accident in North Carolina.
Knox was on a one-semester leave from Barnard and was staying with relatives in North Carolina, according to an e-mail announcement from Dorothy Denburg, the dean of the College.
