As summer approaches, campus is abuzz with talk of vacations, internships, and of course, summer housing. While Columbia College and engineering students are blessed with the relatively cheap summer housing available at Columbia, Barnard students are less fortunate.

There are 29 Division I varsity sports at Columbia, but only one is banned from competing for a national championship. The cross country and fencing teams regularly compete for national titles. The '83 soccer team made a dynamic run in the NCAA Tournament.

This weekend's stormy weather didn't slow down Columbia's rowing teams. The lightweight men defeated both Cornell and Delaware at the fiftieth anniversary of the Geiger Cup. Although they were not able to pull out the win, the heavyweight team rowed in contention against two top-10 teams.
