Last October, along with other members of the "Granny Peace Brigade," Marie Runyon, a Morningside Heights resident since 1954, attempted to enlist in the U.S. army at the Times Square recruitment center as part of an anti-war demonstration which resulted in the arrest of 18 grandmothers.
