Colorado is the mystery in the middle of the country. I suppose that the mere idea of Middle America is inconceivable to the inhabitants of either coast, and the Old West is just the stuff of Hollywood. Colorado is a little bit of both.

The men's swimming and diving team dominated Dartmouth this weekend, winning all but one event. The Lions finished first and second in nine different events, sweeping six of them, and capturing the meet by a final score of 205-87.

In their first meet of the season, the women's swimming team defeated Dartmouth handily by a final score of 167-130. The Lions won nine of the meet's first 10 events, jumping ahead by a lead that proved insurmountable for the Big Green to overcome.

Senior Shannon Munoz was named Ivy League Player of the Year, becoming the first Lions women's soccer player in Columbia history to win the award. Along with Munoz, six other members of the women's team were named to all-Ivy teams, with three joining her on the all-Ivy first team.
