Harlem residents met with U.S. Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-Harlem, on Sunday to discuss the local impact of the lives lost and money spent in the Iraq war, in a town hall meeting organizers called: "The bombs dropped on Iraq explode in our neighborhoods."

President George W. Bush signed into law Thursday a spending bill that includes a $260 raise in the maximum Pell Grant that a student can receive.
The increase, which will bring the highest Pell Grant award to $4,310, will take effect in time for the 2007-2008 school year.
